COVID-19 preparedness & response training

Developed in-person and online training curriculum to prepare health workers in Pacific Island Countries to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Training topics included disease transmission, infection prevention & control, screening, case management, environmental cleaning & decontamination, quarantine and isolation protocols for health workers. Dr. Ntaba led technical review of content, conducted training sessions in person in Tonga, and content was deployed via the OpenEdX platform.

April 2020 – July 2020

A partnership with University of Minnesota/M Health Fairview, Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, Somali Medical Association of America, Korean Services Center, and coalitions of local faith and community leaders. We developed and delivered live and asynchronous online training for management and staff of various stakeholders. Training focused on disease transmission, infection prevention & control, environmental cleaning & decontamination protocols with an emphasis on the educational and training needs of high density housing, and high risk populations including congregant care environments.
